Welcome to the Ten Women Venice Blog!

Hello friends, we at Ten Women Venice have finally joined the blogging revolution! For those of you not familiar with us, we are a n artists' collective in Venice, California located on the ever-more trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Ours is a diverse, eclectic group of 21 female artists who create everything from paintings to ceramics to art glass to hand-loomed bamboo scarves. And, of course, we create (and re-create) our gallery almost daily. We love being a part of an artists' community, and adore connecting with Venice locals who have frequented our shop for years as well as those who just peek in once in awhile or visit from out of town. If you love art and all things handmade, you will love our light-filled, creatively humming space.

Every month we feature a new window at the gallery, and this image is of our October "Day of the Dead" theme.

Ten Women Artists in DOMINO MAGAZINE!

Last month was also very significant as 3 of our artists -- Melissa Moss, Outi Harma and Cathy Nichols were selected as part of Domino Magazine Online's "Best of Nature Art from ETSY." That's 3 artists out of 15! Yay, Ten Women Venice -- we are so hip.

KRISTIN DUCHARME OFFERS GLASS FUSING CLASSES!

Also glass artist extraordinaire Kristin DuCharme and her company, Fireworks Studio, will be offering onsite workshops to teachers and parents so they can provide their students the opportunity to create a beautiful handmade gift. Projects offered include: fused glass sun-catchers; ornaments; and jewelry. Classroom visits are led by Kristin who provides everything needed for each student to create their own fused glass project. Designed to accommodate any classroom facility, the projects require only a basic table and chair setup. The cost of offering a glass fusing experience comes to roughly $15 per student. Each participant creates their own colorful glass collage. The completed collages are taken back to Firework Studio where technicians fire the projects in a special kiln, pack, label and return the finished pieces back to the customer.
